Our team helped convert an existing 160,000 square foot facility into a cutting-edge process plant for computer chips on a highly aggressive schedule. 

To optimize field installation, our BIM department and project delivery team worked together to run digital clash detection. Significant changes were made to the engineer’s design as the project progressed, but we were able to absorb those changes and complete the project on schedule and within budget.

Even facing an aggressive timeline, our team went above and beyond to deliver quality, achieving zero recordable or lost time incidents, providing detailed invoice accuracy for prompt payment, and minimizing peripheral noise at the project level.

Client Objectives

The customer’s primary objectives were to complete the project safely, on time, and on budget, while maintaining necessary cash flow during construction.


Over 90,000 field hours and 14,000 management and administrative hours went into this multi-phase project. We leveraged integrated project delivery to maximize the speed that the client could get their product to market. The total timeline, from design and demolition to finished construction, was one year.

The first phase was a showcase of our BIM team, who were able to accelerate the BIM schedule by three months. During this phase, we:

  • Demolished the plant’s interior 
  • Developed mechanical system layout for new floor plan based on 3D scans
  • Created duct fabrication and installation sheets
  • Fabricated custom ductwork

During the second phase, we:

  • Constructed various clean rooms, with the most stringent being a Class 100
  • Installed 9 new air handling units and upfitted 26 existing units
  • Installed accompanying ductwork and hydronic piping systems
    • Approximately 400,000 pounds of ductwork
    • Over one mile of pipe
